At Joyce Wellness’ peaceful space in Costa Mesa, their dream team of the best women specialists in Orange County work diligently on their clients, offering various healing modalities like acupuncture, body work, nutrition, and herbal medicine.

Founded by Megan Joyce in 2014, the Joyce Wellness team are experts in fertility, prenatal care, and family medicine and aid in a myriad of health problems like infertility, depression, endometriosis, sleep disorders, and body pain. The team consists of Joyce, the lead acupuncturist, Savannah Rae who manages the office and is the in-house Reiki master, Dr. Christine SanMiguel who is a pediatric specialist, Daoist Priestess, master of medical Qigong, and Tara Greenberg, a fertility and pain management specialist.

“My team and I really want to help people. I believe that there are the right people to support the right patients,” shares Joyce. “There are so many different clinics who function differently and I believe that the right people who need our support come find us.”

Ever since she was a little girl, Joyce dreamed of becoming an OBGYN. That dream carried into adult life as she was fascinated with the study of medicine. However, when Joyce started doing a pre-med program, she developed anxiety and hormonal issues. What she realized through the experience was that the western medicine perspective of handling her issues was failing and actually making things worse. It wasn’t until a family member recommended reiki that her life began to shift. This eventually led to Joyce changing her major and going to school for traditional Chinese medicine to study acupuncture.

“Ultimately, there are gentler ways to achieve our health goals and more long-term shifts in how we live our lives,” expresses the healer. “Joyce is a huge piece of that.”

At Joyce Wellness, the healthcare providers work together to create specific treatment plans for each patient. There are no strict rules or set plan for patients as specialists base their work off of the individual’s needs and goals.

“I think less is more,” Joyce explains. “I love being a part of the wellness industry, but sometimes I feel we do a disservice to people in making wellness something that has to be perfect -- the perfect diet, the perfect exercise routine, etc.”

Joyce Wellness isn’t about perfection, it’s about healing and growth — however that looks for their patients. One thing they might recommend for one person, might not be the same for the next patient. They offer many various speciality treatments like cupping, gua sha, electro-stimulation, reiki, vedic meditation, pelvic floor physical therapy, craniosacral therapy, and yoga therapy. It’s basically your one-stop-shop for all things wellness and healing.

While regular operations are currently shut due to COVID-19, Joyce Wellness is still open for telehealth consultations and herbal medicine fulfillment. They are currently only seeing patients for acupuncture and massage on an emergency basis, however they are providing daily group Vedic meditations, virtual individual meditation instruction, and distance reiki sessions. They are closely watching CDC and local government guidelines for a safe time to re-open for regular treatment.

Until then, some distance reiki sounds good to us!
