Our Favorite Coffee Shops in Laguna Beach Right Now
Here's the thing about Laguna — we can never have enough coffee shops, and we're not sorry about it. New ones open, loyalties shift, and the rotation is always evolving.
But some spots just stick.
These are the ones we keep circling back to, whether it's a quick grab-and-go before the farmer's market or a full work session with a latte that's almost too pretty to drink. Almost.
Jedidiah Coffee
397 N Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Starting with Jedidiah Coffee, located just off N Coast Highway, this spot blends amazing coffee with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The shop is coated in sunlight with seating indoors and out; a.k.a. the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a good summer read. I enjoyed the seasonal Blueberry Lavender Latte, which was perfect if you’re craving a specialty drink that has a perfect balance between strong espresso presence and floral syrup. Jedidiah offers traditional espresso and coffee drinks, pastries, and vegan and health-conscious grab-and-go snacks.
Blk Dot Coffee
656 N Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Squeezed in across the street from Divers Cove, Blk Dot is renowned for their Vietnamese Coffee. Vietnamese coffee is the dream for strong coffee lovers. But don’t worry, if you’re looking for a fun and flavorful specialty drink, Blk Dot adds twists to their VTMs. Their summer special is a Neopolitan VTM, and who doesn’t want both ice cream and coffee on a hot afternoon. And if coffee isn’t your thing, they also offer Thai Tea, Lychee Peach Black Tea, Yuzu Mango Matcha, and so much more.
Wild Strawberry Cafe
1440 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
One of Laguna’s newest additions to the cafe scene is Wild Strawberry Cafe, which opened in January of this year. The shop caters perfectly to summer aesthetics, with a white-and-blue interior, which makes it the perfect location for your next Instagram story. Wild Strawberry provides a full menu, from drinks to breakfast favorites, served in thematic white and blue dishes. I enjoyed the freshly baked muffins, including their vegan muffins, which were soft and deliciously paired with a cup of coffee. Other standouts were the sweet and savory crepes, Kale Power Smoothie, and Nutella Latte.
Laguna Coffee Company
1050 S Coast Hwy B, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
After compiling this list, I think PCH should be renamed “Coffee Row.” Laguna Coffee Company is also located on Coast Hwy, and is another knockout shop. On their website they say, “you gotta start romanticizing your life,” and that is exactly why you need to visit Laguna Coffee Co. Everything is delicious and aesthetic, from food to drinks, and the cherry on top is that they use all organic ingredients. I also recommend trying their baked goods, which are sourced from Rye Goods (another all-organic and local bakery).
SUR Coffee
1391 S Coast Hwy Unit A, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
With locations in San Clemente, Huntington Beach, and San Diego — SUR Coffee has taken over the old Bear Coast Coffee location and is now officially open. They work directly with farmers, roast daily in San Clemente, and describe their whole thing as: coffee is the craft, but community is the point. Expect specialty espresso drinks, pastries, and that laid-back surf energy that fits right into this end of Coast Highway.
Succulent Coffee Roasters
272 Broadway St, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Curated for the drip coffee lovers, Succulent Coffee Roasters offers an amazing range of light and dark roasts. They highlight their different roasts with a rotating schedule, and each one will leave you wanting more. To pair with great coffee, they also offer some must-try bites; currently, their succulent protein bite is perfect for a quick protein-centered snack. And for the summer season, the Mixed Berry Latte is a beautiful blend of sweet fruit and espresso. From black coffee enthusiasts to sweet-treat drinkers, Succulent is definitely the place to stop on your next morning walk.
Moulin
248 Forest Ave, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Bringing the taste of France to our very own backyard, Moulin is a Parisian style cafe that offers all the best of French cuisine. As a cafe style, Moulin is the ideal spot for your next late-start summer brunch. They offer traditional coffee, French cuisine staples, and a full boulangerie-patisserie (with everything baked daily). As a way to embrace the summer, Moulin has created a special summer dinner menu featuring French onion soup, pan-seared salmon, steak frites, and much more. The menu is offered through August 31st, so make sure to add it to your summer bucket list.
Equator Coffees
160 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
If you want to experience the community feel of Laguna while also experiencing a great cup of coffee, the place to be is Equator Coffees. The last but definitely not least, Equator Coffees is located in the historic South Coast Theater, inside Rivian’s flagship retail space. You can pick up their Breakfast Frittata Sandwich and a seasonal drink while also exploring local art and events. This summer, their seasonal menu includes a Strawberry Matcha, Almond Pride & Joy, Colada Cold Brew, and Strawberry Sparkling Lemonade. Make sure to look into their event schedule, as they host events, like free film screenings and speaker series, in collaboration with Rivian. And as the cherry on top, Equator Coffees is a Women and LGBTQ+ founded coffee roaster.
