Effervescent Collective is Beach Fashion for a Good Cause

Post Met Gala, we’re reminded that fashion is so much more than a photogenic sheath — it has power, influence, and most of all, can be a force of good. Here in Orange County, Effervescent Collective is a brand that channels that intention with style, substance, and a very SoCal vibe.

Founded by content creator, model, actress, and local, Heather Wrixon (who also boasts an impressive 24.2k followers on Instagram!), Effervescent Collective is a passion project that grew from an appreciation for fashion, even at a young age. “I have pictures of me as a toddler with bits of fabric I put together to put on a fashion show,” laughs the creator. “I’ve always had a passion for creating.”

As an adult, Wrixon drew from her modeling and acting career, drawn in by the behind-the-scenes action and work that goes into creating every concept.

Seeing a gap in the fashion community for brands that are more interactive and attune to their customers’ needs, while also coming in at an affordable price point, Effervescent Collective was born. “I wanted to break the norms and start a brand that makes everyone feel good about what they wear, and where they bought it from,” explains the entrepreneur.

Effervescent Collective is focused on steering clear of the notion that fashion is just about fabric, but also a way to express yourself.

“Fashion adds fun and versatility to daily life to be able to experiment with what brings you joy. When you feel good in what you are wearing, it automatically gives a huge confidence boost,” explains Wrixon.

With social media serving as a major player in how Effervescent Collective sells their online products, they look at the California girl for their #inspo and encourage women of all types to be their own muse. “We bring different styles together to highlight the importance of individuality and creativity. We inspire the risk-takers, trendsetters, believers, the courageous, and the optimistic to freely be themselves,” explains the founder.

“We are here to make a difference. We aim to be fearless, yet effortlessly effervescent.”

Taking that mantra one step further, Effervescent Collective has a philanthropic core, and for a cause that is close to home for Wrixon. In December of 2019, brain cancer took her mother from the world far too soon. “I wanted to create something to keep her memory alive. While going through her Glioblastoma treatment, I always believed one day a cure would be found,” she shares. A year-and-a-half later, Effervescent Collective is the result of her doing what she loves, and honoring her mother by donating a percentage of purchases to non-profits like ABC Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure and the American Brain Tumor Association.

“My mother always inspired me,” remembers Wrixon. “She had the biggest heart in the world and always had a way of making everybody feel special and valued. When I think back to her contagious light, I am inspired to sprinkle her love and positivity to the people around me. She has taught me to never give up, and that the smallest deeds can go a long way. She was my biggest supporter and I will always be grateful for her.”

Without a doubt, Wrixon’s enchanting spirit is akin to her mother, and, as each month proves a success in terms of growth for her new brand, she gets more and more hopeful for the future.

Effervescent Collective’s current collection is completely covetable, with her top picks being ideal transitional pieces as we enter autumn.

A few of her favorite pieces are the Cross Your Mind Midi Dress, the Latte Lounge Top and the Latte Lounge Bottoms (ideal for cozy days sipping on PSL’s), and The West Coast Floral One Piece (which you can wear as a swimsuit, or simply paired with jeans). How SoCal of you!

Next year's collections are already in the works, as well as a few pop-up events that are sure to create more buzz for this brand that set its sights on far more than superficial motives. Wrixon puts it best: “What sets Effervescent apart from other brands is that we give to an amazing cause, we are active within our community, our clothes are at a great price point,” and, to sweeten an already earnest deal, “we give free scrunchies with every order!”

Aside from the scrunchies, we hope Effervescent Collective’s profound beginnings and promising future make an impact, hopefully setting a precedent for other fashion brands to follow suit.
