Laguna Through a Local's Eye: Michelle Zuzek
Michelle Zuzek is the founder of the fashion and lifestyle publication, Style Beacon, where she strives to add a little sparkle and positivity to your life. She launched her blog in 2012 as a side hustle, while she worked in medical sales and has since built a loyal following throughout Orange County as the @stylebeacon. (Her absolute favorite part of the job is sharing advice through her life advice hashtag, #beaconisms.)
Michelle’s mission is to bring “beacons” into your mindset, lifestyle, closet, and everything in between. She believes in connecting and uplifting others in every aspect of their lives.
Not one to sit still, she is also the founder of Presmatic, a personal gift concierge. (Be sure to enlist her help if you need a gift for your significant other, family member, or client!)
It’s hard to catch her without a stylish outfit and a big smile on her face. She is always on the go — you’ll undoubtedly see her out and about in Laguna, where she lives with husband Aleks, daughter Mila, and rescue poodle Duke.
We recently caught up with the busy mom to ask her to share some of her favorite places in Laguna...
The Montage
I’m so grateful to live in Laguna Beach because it truly feels like a vacation everyday. And we just so happen to have one of the most beautiful resorts in the world down the street. The Montage is definitely my favorite place for a staycation, spa day, or a special celebration.
Pacific Horizon Preserve
One of the most incredible parts about living in Laguna is that we have over 100 miles of hiking trails. I especially love the Pacific Horizon Preserve for a peaceful and beautiful loop.
Indigenous Salon
Whether it’s a great cut/color, quick conditioning treatment, or a date night look, I always walk out of Indigenous Salon feeling glamorous. Deanna is the most talented hairstylist I have ever worked with, and Becky is my go-to makeup artist.
The Shop
Every time I walk into The Shop, I leave with something in hand. They have the absolute best selection of clothing/accessories for the quintessential Laguna Beach lifestyle.
Gorjana
High-quality stylish jewelry can be hard to find! We are lucky to be blessed with the amazing designs of Gorjana and her team at the flagship store in downtown. They make everyday pieces that you can dress up or dress down and layer to infinity!
Victoria Beach
This iconic beach is one of the most incredible spots in Laguna. I love to go for evening walks along the ocean and stop at the pirate tower for that magical sunset (and Insta-worthy!) moment.
The Drake
I love to come to The Drake for date nights or even a girls’ night out. They have live music every evening, which is so fun! Their cocktail list is innovative and literally everything on the menu is incredible. My favorites are the Lamb Lollipops, Chili Lime Salmon, and their famous Bubble Martini!
