Becoming the Next American Idol with Ava August
While on a family vacation when she was just nine-years-old, Ava August found herself singing for a local family who owned a guitar shop. The shop owner was so impressed with her vocals that he ended up gifting her a brand new ukulele, teaching an eager August her very first chord (G).
Wasting no time whatsoever, that night she wrote her debut song, carving out the initial steps to what is becoming an über successful career for herself.
Six years later, at just 15, Ava August has a number of seriously star quality songs and is currently a contestant on American Idol.
For the launch of Season 2 of the Laguna Beach Living Podcast we talk with the Laguna Niguel local about her musical journey thus far — everything from writing her own songs to navigating her American Idol experience with her freshman year at Dana Hills High School.
